International Women’s Day
Eighth of March nineteen sixty seven From the father to the husband From the fire to the frying pan The glass ceiling is in my head The glass ceiling Is in my head
I was born on 8 March - International Women’s Day. I trained as a scientist, and am a writer at heart. My current job with a scientific publishing company combines my two interests, science and writing. I am now looking for a publisher for my first novel Gravida 2: a Suburban Odyssey. It is not an odyssey in the Homeric sense of the term, but in the Joycean sense. James Joyce’s Ulysses is at the center of the novel, or rather at the center of one of the character’s reflexions on the novel she tries to write. These reflexions take the form of internal monologues and essays on works inspired by Ulysses (books, films, music) or by the themes contained in Ulysses.
